I Always Credit My Enemy

Day 3 of working from home. I thought I was going to talk about how a positive of working from home was how soft my feet are becoming. But I’ll cover that at a later date.

Today’s positive about working from home is that Naima has actually started to hang out in the office. Not a little bit, but more than she ever used to in the past. She has never been a big fan of the office and I’m sure that is because the office is probably the most cluttered, messed up room in my house. However, as I sit in the office way more than normal AND I also start cleaning and sorting and throwing things out in my office, she has broken down and started to hang out there.

On to Day 4…

+++++++

These pictures are from my backyard that I took back in August.

Growing, Then Giving Up

This collection of flower pictures are from August. They are mostly taken in my backyard, but a few of them are from my Mom’s flowerbeds.

I in particular, like the supermacro sunflower picture, but I’m sure it’s somewhat impressionist feel will turn some people off. But to those people, I say stick up your nose Gauguin!

It feels so good to get more of this 2019 backlog knocked off!

The Poetry That’s Hidden

Other than a couple sets of Senior pictures, this small collection of pictures represents the balance of the July 2019 backlog.

These pictures were taken in my backyard, except the picture of Naima. It is hard to recollect, but I believe that I was playing around with extension tubes. Playing around with extension tubes is as good of a hobby as a person can have, I reckon.

I’ve already been tackling some of the August backlog with pictures from Fly Iowa and the Iowa State Fair, but I still haven’t even touched pictures from the Minnesota State Fair or of Kanoa, but we’re getting there, by golly!

You Might Not Miss This

On a day back in July I spend a decent amount of time in my yard photographing my flowers and the cutest little new green friend. I’m not sure where my little green friend is right now, but I hope they are doing well.

Here are some of those pictures:

A little more of the backlog gone. I think my little green friend will show up one more time in the future.

I need to start today’s post by wishing a happy birthday to Dawn. Happy birthday Dawn!

I also wanted to share some pictures from the 2019 backlog. Here are some images from a trip I took to Ledges back in August:

The pictures in the folder 2009-09-09 are from two road trips I took back in 2009. One was a trip with my Mom, Grandma, and Teresa to Kalona. Kalona has always been one of my favorite places to visit. It has been too long since I have been there, that is for sure.

The second road trip was one I took with Jay and Jesse to visit Faust up in Mankato. It also has been too long since I have visited Faust. I don’t lack proper motivation. Mankato has a sweet Godzilla statue that I still haven’t seen.

Here are some pictures from those road trips:

Next Saturday’s walk down memory lane will involve some family photos I did for Jim’s lady friend Pam.

Alas, Poor Yorick!

I have to start today’s post off by wishing the happiest of birthdays to Micky! I’m not sure how old Micky is now, but I hope he is at an age where he start to gain a refined taste in pancakes. Micky is one of the best outdoorsman I know, if he ever conquers his fear of snakes, he could even be the best.

Here are some pictures of Micky:

Happy birthday Micky!!

+++++++

You are probably wondering what Micky would like for his birthday. The answer is pretty obvious, since it IS Ash Wednesday.

Micky would like you to come to the Heart of Boone Youth Fellowship Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser for our trip to Indianapolis!

It is all the spaghetti you can eat and you get to name your own price. Starts at 6. Ends at 7. At the Boone First United Methodist Church in the Fellowship Hall in the basement.

Why is this what Micky wants for his birthday? Because a funded mission trip gets me out of the office for an entire week! A full week he doesn’t have to deal with me at work. I know! I can feel people scrambling for their checkbooks right now!

+++++++

Since Micky is a truly great outdoorsman, I think the type of pictures he would like to peer at on his birthday are from when the family stopped at Jester Park after post-worship lunch some Sunday in August.

There Are Moments

Back in July I stumbled around my backyard and took some pictures of my numerous lilies, hollyhocks, and gazanias. I was playing around with extension tubes. It looks like I will have to purchase a set of extension tubes for the New Hotness at some point, but that will be a couple of months away. Perhaps extension tubes will be my birthday present to myself this year.

Have a look at these flower pictures:

The pictures in the folder 2009-08-31 are from both the last day we spent in Ottumwa working on Jen’s Uncle’s house and from my backyard.

The collection of Derrick and his guitar are amongst my favorite pictures I’ve ever taken of Derrick:
