The Archives: Edition #152

Today’s images come from the following folder:

Backup/Robot Monster Bros/Project Universe Stills

A slight explanation of these images: These are stills taken from the Anders Runestad Joint Project Universe. This was probably the best thing that Robot Monster Bros/Cheesedick Films ever made. Well, at least the most competent, any way.

It was also our first/last foray into digital media. Project Universe is a still photo film inspired by the French film La Jetee. The still photos taken for this movie were taken with a digital camera that recorded the images on floppy disks. Each floppy disk could hold 3 images. Yea… Go technology!

Jay and I were the only humans to appear in this movie. I am in exactly one scene. I play Jay’s boss.

Next week’s folder will be:

Personal Photo Project of the Week No. 202

Merry Christmas - 2013 - Personal Photo Project #202
Merry Christmas! – 2013

This week’s Personal Photo Project was to send take a picture to send out with my Merry Christmas text messages. Maybe next year my ambition will grow to full on Christmas card and Christmas letter parody, but it probably won’t.

If you are curious, this picture was taken in the room where we take communion following the first Candlelight Service on Christmas Eve at my church.

Next week’s Personal Photo Project will most likely involve lilies. But you never know which way the wind will blow in 2014.

Slice of Life Vol. 186

A wide variety in this collection AND it officially finishes off another photo album!

I consider this to be the greatest picture of the Herricks ever taken!

On the back of this picture are the words: Teresa first me born. No clue what that means.

I have no clue who these people are, but I’m pretty sure they are awesome!

I wonder if this is a picture of when President McKinley visited Boone.

Up next, a whole new photo album.

Merry Christmas! Even to You, Traitorous Dog!

I don’t publish the pictures of families I do for Christmas cards before Christmas because I don’t want to ruin the surprise of anybody that may be getting a Christmas card.

But today is Christmas, so I am going to release one picture, with a little bit of back story.

I normally do all of my studio photographic work in the small studio that I have cobbled together in the basement, but that studio is currently in disarray due to a basement shuffling project I have been working on for at least 8 months.

Because of that, I transformed by dining room into a makeshift studio to take a picture of the Gorshes.

One of the benefits of having the studio in the basement is that Naima is afraid of the basement. She stays out of the way.

But, I wasn’t overly concerned about her getting in the way because she isn’t overly fond of having her picture taken.

But, when the Gorshes were all set up for their pictures, Naima ran into the picture and posed herself.

I will just repeat, Naima posed herself in this picture. Nobody urged her to be in the picture. Nobody told her to sit in a certain spot. Nobody told her to smile and look at the camera. She did all of this herself. It should also be noted that she fought like crazy to not be removed from the photo.

The good news is that I can now rent out an adorable golden retriever to any family that needs an adorable golden retriever for their family photo.

The Archives: Edition #151

Today’s images come from the following folder:

Backup/Robot Monster Bros/Games 2 Production Stills

I will explain this collection. A very few select of you have had the very distinct pleasure of viewing the magnum opus of my group of friends: Games. These pictures are from the Jay Janson Joint/sequel Games 2. Unfortunately, this movie will never be released. However, that hasn’t stopped Bill from writing a script for Games 3.
