Just south of Manhattan a few miles is a scenic view. On my recent trip to visit Nate and Laura, I stopped at this scenic view and snapped a few photos. Below is one of my favorites.

This brings us to the time where we reveal this week’s theme…

RELIGION!

I told you it would be something that isn’t in everybody’s comfort zone. However, I hope there is still a good amount of submissions.

Time for a definition:

religion – noun – a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

And of course… time for a couple of housekeeping notes from PHOTOGRAPHY 139’S SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION DIVISION.

Michael Houlihan has become the latest person to show taste, class and sophistication by becoming a Photography 139 subscriber. So if you see Michael prowling the mean streets of Ames, Iowa you can give him a knowing glance and of course, the super secret Photography 139 handshake.*

Other sidenote, only 1 person responded positively to the return of the Proust Questionnaire, therefore it will not be making a December return. Take that Proust!

*A loyal subscriber has volunteered to create a Photography 139 handshake. They will then run their creation by my handshake expert. It is possible, that there will be a video on how to do the handshake in the nearish future.

Not everybody can be a winner. Like people who get really angry about Participant ribbons. Those people aren’t winners.

These pictures are the people-who-get-mad-about-Participant-ribbons of the FOOD theme for the WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE. Submitted with bits of commentary.

What I eat for breakfast about every Saturday. Because I like to eat healthy.

I’ve only been to corporate whore Starbucks once in my life, (Kim Barker made me go.) but this is what how I think about the cup “controversy”.

This picture was to suggest the size of the “Pile” Biscuits and Gravy. You’d be surprised to know how much Photoshop went into this image.

If loving chocolate milk is wrong, then I’m dropping this course and auditing a different one where my opinions are considered right.

I love sweet tea so much I should live in a place with a more moderate climate and have less of a work ethic.

Thanks Taco Bell! I was looking for a sign. Unfortunately she said “In what world?” and now I’m depression eating your disgusting tacos to feel… anything. You win twice.

I’m not a mentalist, a psychic, or even a psycho, but this is what I think Layla is thinking:

I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate.
And I can picture us attacking that world, because they’d never expect it.
