This is an in camera effect that I haven’t used for awhile. But I may have to crack out more often with any of my friends that think they can draw.
Clearly DaeHee is better at the putting his melon through the cutout thing than I am.
This photo shoot and a few more to come was spurred by a trip to the Uptown Art Fair and an explanation of how a photographer did their photos.
I was really impressed with how well you can grow a garden out of hay bales. I’m almost tempted to try this along my back fence next year.

The Alpha 35 is officially dead. It could be resurrected but the cost is, as they say, prohibitive. It will now sit on a shelf with the rest of the retired cameras.
The picture above is the last picture the Alpha 35 ever took. It is the last picture from a photo session of Save the Date photos for Bethany and DaeHee.
I just thought I should make a formal announcement that I am going to take a sabbatical from blogging formally. This sabbatical really already began, and I anticipate it lasting until at least May, but maybe longer.
This isn’t to say that I’m out of photos to publish. In fact, the contrary is actually the case.
This isn’t to say that I’m taking a break from photography, because I certainly am not. It is just, that you won’t be able to see my unpublished and yet to be taken photos. At least not here.
Although, I’m sure there will be the occasional blog post about tenderloins, travel, movies, music, life, whatever…
I’m just taking some time off from this project to pursue a couple of other projects. Hopefully those projects will bear fruit someday and I’ll be able to share those with you as well.
