Slice of Life Vol. 186
A wide variety in this collection AND it officially finishes off another photo album!
I consider this to be the greatest picture of the Herricks ever taken!
On the back of this picture are the words: Teresa first me born. No clue what that means.
I have no clue who these people are, but I’m pretty sure they are awesome!
I wonder if this is a picture of when President McKinley visited Boone.
Up next, a whole new photo album.

Methodist Block Party
A few months back my church had our annual Block Party. For various reasons (including weather), it was somewhat sparsely attended. However, once again the Methodist Men ran the Personal Energy Transportation obstacle course.
Here are a few pictures from the event:
Not sure where next week’s Wednesday randomness will take us, but I’m sure it will be borderline interesting.

Methodists, 4-H, and a Nursing Home…
One of the activities that the Mission Committee (chaired by my Mom) from my church (First United Methodist) does every year is organize animals from the 4-H exhibits at the Boone County Fair to be brought to the local nursing home for the residents to enjoy.
When this happened at Westhaven a few weeks back, I was there to photograph some of the event.
Next week’s random Wednesday will be considerably less cuddly and fluffy. I will face my anger about a bad experience I had with a bad tenderloin.
Happy Birthday Teresa!

Unceasing Effort – 2013
This week’s Personal Photo Project was to photograph some of my Mom’s and my alliums. Okay, truthfully, I only have one allium, but it is one of my sincerest hopes that it multiplies in 2014.
The rest of the Unceasing Effort – 2013 Series:
Next week’s Personal Photo Project will return to the Southwest Iowa road trip and involve tea pots.
Post No. 1718
Now that I am officially caught back up with my blogging, I’d like to do a little bit of general house cleaning and look at some completely meaningless statistics.
First of all and most importantly, the Gallery/Store has experienced a complete redesign. It could still be classified as a work in progress, but you should go check it out anyway:
Photography 139 Gallery/Store
I’m not completely in love with the way you navigate around the store/gallery, but it looks a million times better. Any feedback is appreciated.
On these periodic check ins, I like to look at and acknowledge the people that have appeared in this blog AKA An Artist’s Notebook the most since its inception all those years ago.
Top Ten People to Appear in these Pages:
1. Jesse Howard – 224
2. Jay Janson – 199
3. Teresa Kahler – 185
4. Derrick Gorshe – 184

At these times, I also like to look at the most popular pictures in the store. I can’t claim to know 100% how these are determined, but I think it has something to do with pictures that get the “Thumbs Up”.
