Sarah and the City

Most people are probably as sick of hearing about New York City as I am of talking about it, (not really-I love talking about me and things I’ve done) but I recently got a package in the mail from Sarah consisting of some NYC “souvenirs”, one of the nicest cards I’ve ever received in the mail, and a flash drive with her pictures from my visit.

I’m going to share a few of those pictures that I have chosen based on an undisclosed criteria.

Sarah and Tim and possibly other members of my family are coming to visit Boone at a yet to be determined time in September. If you are desiring to meet these people, you better get your name on the manifest in the immediate future.

Next week’s random photos will be a very small collection of pictures from a recent camping trip.

Personal Photo Project of the Week #66

Since I want to be done with all of the New York City images, I’m going to post the last two sets of images today.

Empire

I already wrote about how I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the Empire State Building over her:

LINK DELETED

So I won’t go over it again. I’ll just add that I could have really used a tripod on top of the Empire State Building. Even the monopod that I left in my suitcase would have really helped.

Even though Jesse and I stayed a half block away from Times Square, it wasn’t until the last night we were there that I actually took my camera down there.

The Square

A few more images from Times Square:

Next week’s Personal Photo Project of the Week involves Jill and a mirror.

The End of Random NYC

This is the end of the random NYC images. Please shed no tears.

Some of the pictures are from the Brooklyn Bridge:

Self Evident Truth

Jesse and I knew that we weren’t spending a ton of time in New York and we were given a few suggestions by Sarah and Steph on places to visit. We both decided to choose one place we had to go see.

Jesse chose Central Park.

I chose the Statue of Liberty. In the 3.5 days that we were in New York City, I took approximately 800 photos. Close to half of those were on our Statue of Liberty adventure.

So here are more pictures from the Self Evident Truth Series:

More Random NYC – Ellis Island and Financial District

More random New York City images from the second day of the trip. These pictures were mostly taken on Ellis Island and around the financial district.

Regrettably, I didn’t see one Goldman Sachs piece of garbage to mug.

More random New York City images will be coming your way next Wednesday as well.

More Random New York City – Near Ground Zero

Here are some random New York City images from the Second Day of the trip. These were taken at and around Ground Zero and at St. Paul’s Chapel, which is across the street from Ground Zero.

Regrettably, some of these pictures were taken through a window, leading to a regrettable reflection.

Random New York City Images

Even though I only recently started the tradition of posting movie reviews on Wednesdays, I’m already walking away from that tradition. I want to keep this website about photography as much as possible, so I’m going to start posting my movie reviews on my collective blog:

Robot Monster Bros.

If you were to follow that link, you would not find any movie reviews. You will find an explanation of why I do my movie reviews the way I do. You will also find a posting the 10 Things I Learned in NYC. In the near future, I should have a review of Cedar Rapids up.

Wednesdays now will be more of a random photography day. This way I get more photography on the photography website and more writing on the writing website.
