Window Project #2

Kelly's salon recently had their Grand Re-opening after all of their remodeling.

I hadn't put a picture up in Salon 908 since the remodeling, so I decided to do a window project for the salon.

For a closer look at Window Project #2, you will need to go to Salon 908.

Below is a closer look at the pictures for this project. It should be noted that the pictures below aren't in the same proportions as they are presented in the window.

4 other pictures were under consideration for Window Project #2, but were rejected for various reasons. The rejected pictures:

I will be starting work on Window Project #3 possibly as early as in a couple of days. But most likely it will wait until the beginning of December. I do need to start giving some consideration to whether or not there will be a Photography 139 2010 calendar in the near future.

I think the fake blue flower pic might be the best you've ever taken! It's rife with symbolism =)

It was actually eliminated from window contention because the flower was fake. It is actually a test shot for another picture that I ended up taking.

Although I do like that picture, I just don't like the fact that it is fake because what the end picture is supposed to symbolize is not fake.

This picture could symbolize something else from the other picture though. I think this might be the first time I have published the "test shot".

Those are absolutely beautiful - I can't wait to see it next time I'm there!

The fact that it's fake doesn't mean that it's beauty isn't "real" to me. I don't know where your knowledge of blue roses is at...but, they don't exist naturally and I don't anyone succeeded in genetically creating one until 2004 or so. It's very existence is like a mythological creature (haunting, idealized, etc.). The water feels like a barrier between the real and the tantalizing fantasy of the flower, which is just that--a fantasy. Reminds me of The Last Unicorn =P!

Suzie,
I know virtually nothing about flowers, except what I like and don't like.

I'm glad that you like that picture so much. I will have no choice but to get you a copy for your birthday.

That recently passed.

Angie,

There are also 2 other pictures hanging up at Salon 908. You won't be able to miss them, they are quite large.
