Love is a lie
Sucking you dry
Love’s not a friendUntil the end
You can call it a game
You can choose your own name
When it’s stuck in the vein
There’s no greater painI’ve got a bell but no sound
I’ve got a horse but no hound
And I know why, know why…Love is a lie
Love is a lie
Love is a lie
And I know I’m going downNow there was a time
Love was blowing my mind
Not a tear, not a doubt
‘Til I figured it outNow I’m madder than hell
Love is wagging its tail
I holler, I cry
Love is a lieI’ve got a bell with no ring
I’ve got a whip but no spank
And I know why, know why…Love is a lie
Love is a lie
Love is a lie
And I know I’m going…
You can call it a game
But there’s no greater pain
When it’s stuck in the vein
I know I’m going downI’ve got a bell but no sound

One of my goals this year is to start going to see live music again. I’ve really fallen out of the concert seen lately. I’m 95% sure I’m going to go see The Swell Season in Minneapolis. I’m giving serious consideration to seeing Jason Isbell in Sioux City. Beth Hart is coming to Omaha and I would definitely love to see her as well! Gary Clark Jr. in Saint Paul is on my radar as well.
But Thursdays are for flowers and this flowertography session took place in my yard:

Next Thursday’s flowertography session will take place in my yard. Surprise. Surprise.
I always love a flower + bug photo. So the moth and bee photos are some of my favorite. There’s something about the one right after the moth photo, though, that really captures my attention. All lovely!
Gary Clark, Jr is 100% worth the drive. He was at Hinterland in… 2018, maybe? I would usually never go down into the cesspool of the stage pit, but I did for Gary, and got just a couple of people back – he’s just so incredible, and it entirely translates to live. I don’t know if I can rank the top acts I’ve seen, but he’s definitely waaaay up there.
For the longest time, I thought that meant that you shoved a couple people in a mosh style pit, even though that makes no sense. Probably just cause I recently watched the infamous Quincy Punk Rock episode starring Jan from The Office.
I don’t think I am hardcore enough to win in any mosh pit-style situation. I look pretty well as weak as I would be in that situation.
