Here are the rules for Year 12 of THE WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE:
- The picture must be taken between 12:01 PM today and 11 AM next Monday. This isn’t a curate your photos project. This is a get your butt off the couch and take pictures challenge!
- There is a limit of 2 submissions per person per theme. If you send me more than 2, I will use the first 2 that you submit. If you submit 2 pictures, make sure they are of different subjects.
- Deadline to submit your submission is 11 AM Central Time the following Monday. But that is a deadline. Pictures can be submitted as soon as you take them.
- To be considered the photographer of an image, you have to be the one that clicks the shutter. If you hand your camera over to somebody else to take a picture of you, you are NOT the photographer of that image.
- No screen captures. This is a photography challenge. Not a “look at what I found on the internet” challenge.
- Please include the location of where the picture was taken with your submission.
But you didn’t come here to listen to me talk all tommyrot about participation rates or streaks or the rules of the challenge or how to submit. You came to see the submissions and what streaks continued and what streaks flamed out:

TRANSPORTATION
TRANSPORTATION! What a great theme for Year 12 of THE WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE!
I look forward to seeing your interpretation!
PHOTOGRAPHY TIP OF THE WEEK
Have you ever heard the term the holy trinity? Of course you have, but have you heard it in respect to photography lenses. Also referred to the Big 3 Lenses. These are the lenses a beginning photographer should purchase first. These are the lenses that if you have, will cover a great majority of all photography purposes. When I travel on a plane or if I am doing street photography these are the 3 lenses that I am going to bringing. Why? Because they cover that grand majority of all photography purposes and if a person only has so much space, if you take these, you should be covered. Plus keep your pack relatively light.
So what are the Big 3? The holy trinity?
- The ultra wide angle zoom. 16-35mm or wider.
- A standard zoom. 24-70mm.
- Telephoto zoom. 70-200mm or longer.
But what do all those numbers mean? Oh buddy, we will get into that at a future date.
That is all I got, so if the good Lord’s willin’ and the creek don’t rise, we will see your idea of TRANSPORTATION in this place that hopes to transport you to another world next Monday.
