Owly

Back in the spring the tree in front of Lagomarcino on Iowa State’s beautiful camps had an owl living in it. First chance I got, I ran over there and took some pictures of it. After all, owls are the most common bird for me to hear, but never see. So this owl, a barred owl, was easily accessible, and I chance to visit Iowa State, well that is like all the wins!

Here are those pictures:

I’ve seen a couple of different names given to the owl. One name is Beans, which is terrible. Named after a nearby Starbucks. Not just because Starbucks sucks. The other name, which is much better is Virgil. Named after Virgil Lagomarcino. The educator that Lagomarcino Hall is named after. It was originally called The Quadrangle.

Hopefully it will come back next spring!
