I’m not a really big Neil Diamond fan. He is just kind of okay. And his biggest hit, “Sweet Caroline” I can only really stand when played after an Iowa State win. But I recently went to see the new Craig Brewer movie SONG SUNG BLUE. Which isn’t really about Neil Diamond, but is based on the lives of two people in love that started a Neil Diamond cover band. The couple, Lightning and Thunder reached a pretty decent level of success. They even got to open for Pearl Jam at a concert once. That part of the movie, wow! It made me love Eddie Vedder even more. Just a fantastic human being!

I don’t want to give up too much of the story, (which is heavily dramatized) but this song. “I’ve Been This Way Before” was played near the end of the movie and really hits you in the feels! It is a movie I highly recommend seeing, because it is fantastic! (I wanted to say “So good! So good! here, but somebody else already took that line and I don’t want to plagiarize them.
