That is 16 states!
I’m definitely not tracking this, but I believe we had submissions from the following unique counties in Iowa this week: Boone, Dallas, Guthrie, Jasper, Polk, Story, and Warren.
The big milestones this week were Willy joining the Half Year Streak Club! WooHoo! Deb joined the Year and Half Streak Club! WooHoo! Woo! But it wasn’t all fun and games and glitter and rainbows and unicorns. Two lengthy streaks came crashing to earth. Suzie’s streak is gone after 23 weeks. Worst of all Scarecrow, Monica’s streak went the way of the dodo bird after a massive 29 weeks. The humanity!
Enough dwelling on the past! Time to look to the future. We are all interested in the future, for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives. And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future! This week’s theme:
BIGFOOT HUNTING – SUGGESTED BY ANDY SHARP
BIGFOOT HUNTING! What a great theme for Year 13 of THE WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE! I think I might have just heard an audible groan when some people read this theme. But remember 2 things. 1. If you didn’t suggest any themes, you don’t get to complain about the themes. 2. This really isn’t that hard of a theme when you think about it.
I’m guessing this theme suggestion was inspired by my neighbors. Who are Bigfoot hunters. Your neighbors aren’t Bigfoot hunters? Your neighborhood sucks! So this theme could simply be a picture of where you would go hunting for Bigfoot. Or what you would take with you if you would go Bigfoot hunting. Those are just examples. You could even go Bigfoot hunting. You might even get a picture of Bigfoot. My neighbors claim they have seen a Bigfoot in the Des Moines River Valley on 4 separate occasions! Maybe you could be the person that finally proves that Bigfoot exists!
And I’ll just throw this out there because the word hunting is in the theme title. If you are going to include a gun in your picture, NEVER EVER-EVER-EVER-EVER-EVER point a gun at somebody. Whether it is loaded or if you think it is unloaded. Doesn’t matter. Follow basic gun safety rules. You might be thinking, “nobody is dumb enough to point a gun at another human being just for a picture!” Oh, people are that dumb. But even smart people can make mistakes with guns. I don’t trust a lot of people with guns. And one of the people I trust the most, still managed to shoot his finger off once. Another guy I used to work with that was a big hunter used to make videos of him hunting and the lack of gun safety he displayed in his videos just swinging the gun around when he was talking made some of my other hunting friends mock him constantly. So I’ll just repeat. If you are including a gun in your picture, NEVER-EVER-EVER-EVER-EVER-EVER-EVER point a gun at somebody else. Whether you think the gun is loaded or not. I will get off my soapbox now.
Here are the Year 13 rules!
- YEAR 13 – THE WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE RULES
- The picture must be taken between 12:01 PM today and 11 AM next Monday. This isn’t a curate your photos project. This is a get your butt off the couch and take pictures challenge!
- There is a limit of 2 submissions per person per theme. If you send me more than 2, I will use the first 2 that you submit. If you submit 2 pictures, make sure they are of different subjects.
- Deadline to submit your submission is 11 AM Central Time the following Monday. But that is a deadline. Pictures can be submitted as soon as you take them. In fact, pictures being submitted by Sunday night are GREATLY APPRECIATED!
- To be considered the photographer of an image, you have to be the one that clicks the shutter. If you hand your camera over to somebody else to take a picture of you, you are NOT the photographer of that image.
- No screen captures. This is a photography challenge. Not a “look at what I found on the internet” challenge.
- Please include the location of where the picture was taken with your submission. PLEASE DON’T MAKE ME ASK YOU!
- Please submit images that are OVER 1000 pixels at their largest side. DON’T OVERCROP! Look at this page on a computer, if your images are considerably smaller than everyone else’s pictures, then you are sending too small of images!
- ABSOLUTELY NO USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE!!
- How to Submit
- Email your submission to bennett@photography139.com.
- Text your submission to my Google Pixel 8 Pro. I’m not putting my phone # here. If you know, you know.
This is the 1st time that BIGFOOT HUNTING been a theme for THE WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE.
I look forward to seeing your interpretation!
Until next Monday, may you run and not be weary. May your heart be filled with song. And may the love of God continue to give you hope and keep you strong.
