I wanna sit you down and talk
I wanna pull back the veils
And find out what it is I’ve done wrong
I wanna tear these curtains down
I want you to meet me somewhere
Tonight in this old tourist town
And we’ll goLow rising
‘Cause we’ve gotta come up
We’ve gotta come up
Low rising
‘Cause there’s no further for us to fall
Low rising
‘Cause I fear we’ve had enough
Low rising
Oh, for the love of youI wanna take you to the rock
I wanna jump right in
And see what that big ocean’s got
I wanna turn this thing around
I wanna drink with you
All night, till we both fall down
Till we goLow rising
‘Cause we’ve gotta come up
We’ve gotta come up
Low rising
‘Cause there’s no further for us to fall
Low rising
And I fear we’ve had enough
Low rising
Oh, for the love of youLow rising
‘Cause we’ve gotta come up
We’ve gotta come up
Low rising
Til I fear we’ve had enough
Low rising
‘Cause there’s no further for us to fall
Low Rising
Oh, for the love of youFor the love of you
Written by Glen Hansard
Low rising, low rising
I wanna sit you down and talk
I wanna sit you down and talk about it now
Glen Hansard was married to the poet Maire Saaritsa. This is the poem she wrote and read at his funeral:
“Come to me with beauty, I require it to stay alive. I’m not talking of precious gifts, nor do I want a dolled-up, dutiful and well-assessed array of tender words.
“Hurl the clash of what you’ve pocketed from this day at my feet, and then be brave enough to look me in the eye. Push the boundary of two minds ’til it stretches, ’til there are two bodies in one embrace, and a moment of understanding or acceptance, or blind faith and a sense of the infinite jump and jive.
“That to me is beauty, and I require it to stay alive.”
Maire Saaritsa
But Thursdays are for flowers. This is another flowertography session from Pella.
Still plenty more Pella flower pictures left to share!
