In all seriousness, I do feel sad for the people who hate my flower photography. I think this is one of the best flower picture collections I’ve ever put together. There are probably multiple pictures in this collection that will show back up when it is time to pick my Boone County Fair and Pufferbilly Day Contest pictures.

  1. I felt like I didn’t take many flower pictures in 2019, but my 2019 backlog disputes this. But I’m going to get caught up some day.

I’d be surprised if one of these doesn’t end up in photo contest somewhere.

The Gazania that isn’t fully bloomed yet is actually my favorite, but it is the type of picture that wouldn’t do well at a photo contest, not that it is something I care about exactly, but it still a fact. Or an opinion.

  2. I am admittedly terrible with flower names – is that the one that sort of looks like a dandelion in profile, but reaching up? That one is also just lovely.

Photo contests admittedly sort of reward the obvious photos. It’s somewhat disappointing.

  3. I guess I never thought of it as look liking a dandelion, but yes, I suppose it does. That is a gazania. Also known as African daisies. A good flower to plant if you aren’t very good at taking care of flowers because they can go a decent amount of time without water.

  4. I love them so much I spend $300 a year to make sure there aren’t any in my yard. Among other things. But in other people’s yards, they are lovely.
