Back in October, I made a daytrip to Manhattan, Kansas to take pictures of the triplets around the time of their first birthday. Although a more formal portrait was planned, candid portraits more ruled the day. 1 year olds (particularly 3 of them) don’t cooperate much for formal portraits.

Here are some of my favorites:

When we got to the park, we ran into a group of witches. Just kidding, it was a group of women that were in the woods, dancing in a circle. They gave us bubbles though, so they were good witches… errr… women dancing in the woods in a circle.

There are definitely more pictures from this day to come.

  1. Adorable! And you are correct – in my experiences, there’s not really a great way to get a formal shot of a 1-year-old is to put a cake in front of them for the first time.

I hope you got photos of the witches! Do you remember Katherine who used to worth at the computer mine? She used to read Junior Mints instead of tea leaves.

  2. One one year old can sometimes work out, if there is another adult there that can distract them. But 3 of them. Yeah. No chance.

The “witches” are in the picture with the woman in the black and white hair standing in front of one of the triples with arms spread wide.

I did not know that about Katherine. I mean, I knew she put a spell on her Solstice Cookies that drained all moisture out of your body. But I didn’t know she read Junior Mints.

I also don’t know if there will be a ROAD TRIP photo from you this week.
