Time for the Bokeh Picture of the Week:
She is getting big, but staying adorable.
+++++++
This week we finally have a food adventure outside of New Orleans. Back in the Cyclone State. In fact, I haven’t left the Cyclone State since I got Bokeh, but maybe that will change soon. I need to take some vacation time this month. I’m not being forced to take vacation time, but I can tell that it is past time I take a break from the Computer Mine.
But all of that is neither here nor there. The point is that the last time I took some time off was the week I got Bokeh, back in May. While I was on that little staycation, I did something that I have never done. I had lunch at the Whistle Stop Cafe in Boone. I’ve had breakfast at the Whistle Stop at least 100 times. It was Mom and I usually ate breakfast on Saturday mornings. But I have never had lunch there. Strange? More than a little.
So I called up Logan and we went there for lunch. Of course, I had to get the tenderloin.
Here are some pictures:
Of course, had to get some cheese curds!
I haven’t been back to the Whistle Stop for lunch since then, but I really need to do that! It was a very solid tenderloin! And it got all the write notes. Toasted bun. Hit the meat to bun ration. White onions. Good thickness. I don’t think it is the best tenderloin in Boone, but it definitely hits the spot. I think next time I hit them up for lunch I’ll have to try one of their burgers.
Another thing to note, it was so cheap. Logan and I got an appetizer, a tenderloin with onion rings, a chili dog with tots, 2 pies, and two beverages. The total damage was less than $30!
Next Sunday’s food adventure will involve the Boone County Fair, but not in the way you might think.
