(I Never Promised You A) Rose Garden

Today is Halloween, so I need to start this post off by wishing all of you a Happy Halloween.

Happy Halloween - 2024
Happy Halloween!

May your Halloween be filled with candy, costumes, friends, pumpkins, horror movies, and even more candy! And may the real horror of the holiday be the AI Photoshop job I did on this grain-bin-o-lantern in Ogden.

BUT as you may recall on Halloween, I like to reveal my annual Candy Power Rankings. So… without further adieu…

CANDY POWER RANKINGS

10. Caramello
9. Clark
8. Baby Ruth
7. Pretzel M&M’s
6. Snickers
5. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
4. Twix Caramel
3. Peanut M&M’s
2. Take 5
1. Whatchamacallit

My word if final and is beyond contestation. I will take no questions at this time.

+++++++

I beg your pardon
I never promised you a rose garden
Along with the sunshine
There’s gotta be a little rain sometime

When you take, you gotta give
So live and let live or let go, whoa-whoa-whoa
I beg your pardon
I never promised you a rose garden

I could promise you things like big diamond rings
But you don’t find roses growin’ on stalks of clover
So you better think it over

Well, if sweet-talkin’ you could make it come true
I would give you the world right now on a silver platter
But what would it matter

So smile for a while and let’s be jolly
Love shouldn’t be so melancholy
Come along and share the good times while we can

I beg your pardon
I never promised you a rose garden
Along with the sunshine
There’s gotta be a little rain sometime

I beg your pardon
I never promised you a rose garden

I could sing you a tune and promise you the moon
But if that’s what it takes to hold you
I’d just as soon let you go
But there’s one thing I want you to know

You better look before you leap, still waters run deep
And there won’t always be someone there to pull you out
And you know what I’m talking about

So smile for a while and let’s be jolly
Love shouldn’t be so melancholy
Come along and share the good times while we can

I beg your pardon
I never promised you a rose garden
Along with the sunshine
There’s gotta be a little rain sometime

I beg your pardon
I never promised you a rose garden

Unlike Lynn Anderson I will promise any of you a rose garden. Meaning I promise that I would take any of you on a trip to the State Center Rose Garden with me next year. The line forms to the left.

Time to share the balance of pictures I took on my trip to The State Center Rose Garden with Brandon, Elainie, and Sabas.

  1. Seems like a life changing list w many high ranking things disappearing, except the one that can’t remember what it’s called, the whatcha ma call it. But now I guess I’ll start my road-trip looking for pretzel mms since I’ve never heard of such a thing
I need dinner advice. I got an invite for helping my childhood Sunday school teacher w heavy house tasks thru out the year to a meal sometime, if a guy wanted a tenderloin would I go to Luther or Stratford, I believe they both had good marks by you

    Ideas for themes
Desert, pizza, condiments, black and gold or cardinal and gold or favorite 2 colors, and lastly maybe a picture of your dream

  2. And I don’t know you can find Pretzel M&M’s in single servings. At least I haven’t seen them for a bit. But you can find them in “Family Size” at Wal-Mart.

And that is a tough call on the tenderloin. I think Luther’s is better, however the rest of the food is better in Stratford. So overall, I might recommend Stratford.

The only childhood Sunday School teacher I remember was Gerald Cole. But he passed away a long time ago.

  3. Linda Millis “Benton” did it for awhile after Coles but I had them too,
New ideas are pizza, two tone, multiple black and white weeks, and dreams I’m putting it in comment section on photo139 per request, doesn’t this just post to the 139 photography Instantgramfaceboxtweeterxmyspacewall on intro net
I’m trying to get tec savy

  4. It has to be on that other post. Putting your ideas on this post does not count.

That is who I thought the Sunday School teacher would be.

  5. Test test test, what to sneak into a movie theater, black and white old school, dessert , two tone, dream, pizza, your weirdest condiment in your frig
