Breakfast Clubbin’: East Village Field Work

A few weeks back after church Teresa and I went down to the East Village to get breakfast at The Breakfast Club. It seems most people I know have eaten there and have given it rave reviews. I had to give it a shot.

Here are some pictures:

After we left The Breakfast Club we went across the street to Molly’s Cupcakes:

I didn’t actually get anything there, but I wish I had. After that we went to Raygun. Mostly cause I thought there was an Art Festival going on there, but turns out, that was the day before. Some pictures from Raygun:

The Breakfast Egg Rolls were $13. They are described on the menu thusly:

Bacon, cheddar, scrambled egg, potato, green onion, served with siracha mayo, sweet chili on the side.

They were absolutely delicious and I would get them again and again and again.

The Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs ran me $15. The menu description:

Chicken fried steak, country gravy, hash browns, over easy eggs, green onion

This dish is actually very similar to what I used to get on the regular in the old days of the Legal Limit. It was delicious and I would get it again, but I think next time I would get something else. Maybe the Breakfast Burrito or a loaded hashbrown or the Juan Denver Omelet.

The final verdict is that I would definitely go back. In fact, I would consider making a special trip just to eat there again.

The Breakfast Club is located at:

212 East 3rd Street
Des Moines, Iowa

There are also locations in Ankeny and West Des Moines, but we all know Ankeny and West Des Moines suck.

The hours are:

6 AM – 2:30 PM Daily.

Next Sunday’s food adventure will involve donuts!
