So the Big Boy didn’t stay in Carroll as long as it was supposed to. Then on top of it, getting out of the parking lot near the Carroll depot was a disaster. I bet the Big Boy was halfway to Jefferson before I even got out of the parking lot. Then the traffic getting out of Carroll, was both a disaster and I way underestimated it. It took me all the way to Grand Junction. That is over 30 miles. Then when I did catch up to it I got stuck in super slow traffic going about 30 miles per hour as a bunch of yahoos were trying to stay perfectly parallel to it as they drove down 30.
Earlier in the day I had scouted out a spot on some private land that Andy had found me to take some pictures as it came across the Kate Shelley High Bridge. I had absolutely no change of making it at all. Although I did get in front of it around Beaver, it still beat me back to Boone. If I would have went straight to that spot after I photographed it west of Carroll, I think I would have only barely made it.
I do think I was able to salvage the day by getting pictures of the Big Boy parked in Boone. It is also where I found a new love. Taking pictures of people looking at the Big Boy.

Still some more pictures of the Big Boy parked in Boone left to share.
