Cue: West Des Moines Field Work

A couple months back Russell and Andree took me out to the culinary treat knowns as Korean Barbecue for my birthday. I didn’t know that such a thing even existed, let alone in Iowa. I mean I knew Korean barbecue existed because of DaeHee, but not in this kind of format.

Dre recommended that we get there in the off-hours because otherwise the wait to get in can be painfully long. I extend the recommendation to you as well.

Here are pictures from my food adventure at K-Pot:

OBSERVATIONS

  • I loved it and like all you can eat (in 2 hours) situations. If you don’t like something, slide it away and order something new.
  • I thought Dre was kidding about the 2 hour time limit, but he wasn’t. You order everything through a tablet. And once the first order is entered, a countdown starts and when your 2 hours are up, somebody definitely shows up at your table and gives you the boot.
  • You don’t have to get the soup or broth. It is a little extra, but I recommend it because things like the dumplings are better when they are boiled in the soup.
  • I’m not sure what the damage was, they bought my meal for my birthday, but I think it was in the ballpark of $40.
  • I would definitely go back. In fact, I have tentative plans to go back with Jay.

Next Sunday’s food adventure will involve a tenderloin again!
