How I miss the people we used to be
And all those things that you brought out in me
We’re both different now and times have changed
Even the best of friends can become estranged
Well I am well aware that we can not go back, butI will not stand by and watch this fire
Burn down everything we worked so hard to build
If you keep willing those flames to go higher
You know they willThings were easier once, when our hearts were light
We’d stay up talking late and put all the world to right
We got fair warning though, I may have spoke too soon
‘Cause something altogether unforeseen stepped into view
Well I am well aware we can’t go back there, butI will not stand by and watch this fire

As many of you know, one of my absolute favorite bands of all-time is The Swell Season. And in a month I will be about to get on a plane to go to the site of the movie that made them famous. Last night I went to see them in concert for the 1st time in like 15 years. Which is a little sad, but in fairness they haven’t been together and performing for most of those years.
While I write this before I actually attended the concert, I think it is safe to say, it was an absolutely fantastic concert! Loved every second of it!
This song is the 2nd song from their brand new album (probably coming to a New to Me Vinyl Friday in the future). Here is a little background on the song from the The Swell Season website:
We’re thrilled to share “People We Used To Be” – the first glimpse into The Swell Season’s new chapter. You can listen at your preferred platform here and watch the video below!
This song came from those honest conversations about relationships – how we show different versions of ourselves from those first magical honeymoon moments to the challenging crossroads where we decide: do we watch it burn away, or fight for what matters?
As an opener to our new work together, it couldn’t be more fitting. This song symbolizes perfectly how our own relationship has evolved over the years to a place where we’ve found strength in our friendship. It’s about empowerment and looking forward – not just for us, but for anyone who’s weathered changes and come through stronger. – Markéta & Glen

But Thursdays are for flowers and I have plenty more flower pictures from Pella left to share. This collection also features a handful of street photography images from around town.

Hope you guys love tulips, cause I still have 250 tulip photos left to process, curate, and edit. WooHoo!
