This food adventure is a little bit different. This isn’t an adventure where I went and ate hopefully delicious food. This one, in fact, wasn’t even a full food adventure. The pictures here are from the recent Boone County Fair Barbecue Contest. Logan’s barbecue team Tall & Meaty competed. This year Nathanial and Dustin competed with him.
I wasn’t able to hang around for the judging or even until the food was done. I had to leave for a wedding. But I snapped some pictures before I left.

I’m pleased to report that Tall & Meaty won all 3 categories they entered. Then they also took home the Grand Champion prize. Which means that they will advance and compete at the Iowa State Fair. If you are at the Iowa State Fair in the morning of Tuesday, August 12 you should drop by and say hello. The barbecue is on the Grand Concourse. I will be there in a photojournalistic-documentarian capacity.
Next Sunday’s food adventure will involve the reigning Best Burger in Iowa.
