Earlier in the year I took a solo trip up to Clear Lake for their annual kite festival known as Color the Wind. I was unsure if I was going to make the trip as the weather was a little dodgy in the early morning, but I decided to at least try the roads and if they were awful, I would turn around and head back the safety of my hearth, if I had one.
Fortunately, the roads were dodgy, for a bit but cleared up well enough to make it to Clear Lake. However, I didn’t plan the trip very well and showed up with two batteries that were a bit low on juice. But I cajoled them the best I could and got quite a few pictures.
Here is the 1st collection:
I think the beaver and the hawk were my favorite kites. The eagle is up there as well. I still have 2 more collections of images from this day left to share.
