A couple weeks back Boone held our annual Christmas Parade and town tree lighting event. It was about a week later than normal if memory serves and it ran into some terrible weather. On the day it was supposed to be we had a snowstorm. So it got moved back one night, which might have been worse because the temperatures outside were brutally cold. Well below freezing. Never broke double digits.
It isn’t usually a big event, but I’m guessing that the weather caused at least a few floats to dropout cause there were only like 6 or 7 floats this year. And while there is usually a good sized crowd. Well into the hundreds. I’m not sure this year the event broke triple figures. It was small enough I don’t think I saw a single person I know. I mean, except for Santa!
Here are some pictures that I hope put you in the Christmas spirit!
Hopefully the weather is better next year for the parade and the Christmas tree lighting!
