One of the little used benefits at the Computer Mine is that everybody gets 8 hours of VTO every year to use. I’m pretty sure next to nobody uses it, which is a shame. An extra day off. To do something fun? Why wouldn’t you do that? I guess some people love their jobs more than me.
I used to always use my 8 hours of VTO to cover 1 day of the year Youth Group Mission Trip. But since that isn’t currently a thing, the last few years I’ve used it to help out with one of the prep days for the Boone First United Methodist Church Thanksgiving prep. And the fact it gives me a 5 day weekend is a nice little ancillary benefit, I won’t lie.
Here are some pictures of the prep work. Making stuffing. Carving turkeys. The worst job, which is bagging rolls and butter. Portioning out cranberry (also a worst job). Setting the tables and cutting the pies:
I still have one more collection of images to share from the actual day of the Thanksgiving meal. Perhaps next Saturday would be a good time for that.
