I always spend my 4th of July at the annual Degeneffe Independence Day Extravaganza. I go for the great company and the great food. But also at the end of the night there is a fireworks show that is probably pretty close to being on par with the show put on at the Boone Speedway. I’m actually not that great of fireworks as they kind of bore me easily. However setting off fireworks is tons of fun. In fact it is one of the things in this life that has the greatest gap between watching and doing. Right next to parades and baseball. Watching baseball. Snorefest. Playing baseball. Pretty fun.

I wasn’t really in a great position to take a picture of the fireworks in the air. I could have moved. But you know… seemed like a lot of work at the time.
Independence Day is a Saturday this year. I’m sure I’ll end up at the Degeneffes again. Cause the of the great company and the great food.
