Ireland Day 2: Road to Giant’s Causeway

On Day 2 in Ireland we got up bright and early and hit the road for Northern Ireland. It was about a 3 hour drive from Dublin to our first stop: The Giant’s Causeway.

There were a handful of must see things for me on our trip. The Giant’s Causeway was one of those. After seeing it, I think it is probably the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. But every day in Ireland you see something and think, this is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. Of course, there are plenty of these places in the world I haven’t been. Well, I’ve been next to no place in the world. But there are so many places I haven’t been in the United States that “the most beautiful place” I’ve ever been isn’t really much of a list.

This collection of images goes from our trip to the Giant’s Causeway to the beginning of the walk to the Giant’s Causeway.

Being on the opposite side of the road. It still felt super strange.

One thing we quickly learned… we have no clue what most of their signs even mean.

Definitely don’t see that flag flying in Ireland.

Speed cameras are the devil… but these signs are at least cool.

Bushmills. The town just south of the Giant’s Causeway.

The town in the distance is Portballintrae.

Terrible parkers aren’t unique to the United States.

Starting the descent to the Giant’s Causeway.

I believe this is Bay of the Cow.

It is around here that Andy and I got separated.

I think this one means falling rocks.

You can take a bus up and down this road.

Next Friday when we check in on this magnificent trip, we might actually make it to the Giant’s Causeway.
