When I went to the Iowa State Fair, I had a goal of knocking out 2 or 3 of THE PHOTO JOURNAL PROJECT images. I managed 2. Here is Page 41:

I actually struggled picking which image to place in the physical copy of THE JOURNAL, but this photo of a mullet competition seems like it would fit into the original collection nicely. Here are the other ones I considered:

These are all quintessential America – but you got it, a mullet contest is pretty well the best!
When I took the picture that will get taped into the book, I didn’t even realize it was a mullet contest. I took the picture for the guy wearing the American flag shirt outfit.
He was who caught my eye immediately. Also, his bangs are spectacular.
