On the Saturday of the Boone County Fair I took a break from Logan’s barbecue contest to jet over to one of my favorite small town festivals, the Stanhope Watermelon Festival. I went there hoping to catch the watermelon eating contest and to visit the Stanhope State University booth. Stanhope State makes an incredible collection of stickers and shirts and hats. I could spend a small fortune on their swag. I probably did!
