Back in August I replaced the mid focal length lens of my Big 3. I was using a Tamron, but decided to replace it with a newer Sigma lens. I had already replaced my super wide of the Big 3 earlier in the year. I have yet to replace the telephoto lens of the Big 3, but want to do that this year depending on some unforeseen expenses and if buying eggs doesn’t completely smash my budget into a million pieces.
I’m not going to get into the specs of this lens, since only a few of us would really get excited about it. I think it is sufficient to say that the focal length range is 24-70mm and the largest aperture through all focal lengths is f/2.8.
Here are the first images I took with it:

I did promise to be better about posting about new equipment when I get it, but this one was before I made that vow. We will see how good I am at my word in the near future, hopefully.
It is so great to get new glass! I wasn’t willing to get a new 24-70mm f/2.8 on my new mirrorless, so I instead got an offbrand adapter ring that allows me to use my old one from my full frame camera. It isn’t quite the same, and there are definitely some occasional noise issues because of it, and you just totally showed why that is a thing to avoid here. This is some incredible clarity.
