Messala! Ames Field Work

A few weeks back Jay had the grand idea of trying Indian for Friday Night Supper Club. To be honest, it has been years since the last time I ate Indian. And I mean years. I bet it has been at least a decade. So a plan was hatched and then for one FNSC we hit up the India Palace.

Here are some pictures from the evening:

It was a great night, as every FNSC is a great night!

THE GOOD

  • The Mango Lassi was flat out one of the best drinks I’ve ever had in my life. I could have sat there and downed those all night.
  • The Special Vegetable Samosas were also delicious.
  • The Chicken Tikka Masala was also delicious.

THE BAD

  • The Naan really didn’t do much for me.
  • Touch on the pricey side, but could reduce the cost by not getting the naan and drinking water, but you know I’m getting that Mango Lassi again.

THE UGLY

  • This is really on me, I don’t know Indian food very well. I only ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala cause it was recommended to me.

THE DAMAGE

  • With tip, it came to $35.46.

THE VERDICT

  • I would definitely eat there again. Branch out to something different. But definitely get that Mango Lassi again!

HOW DO YOU EAT THERE

  • Located at 120 Hayward Avenue – Ames, Iowa
  • Hours: Closed Monday, Rest of the week: Lunch 11-3 & 5-10

Next Sunday’s food adventure will involve Godzilla!

  1. Chicken Makhany (Sometimes called Butter Chicken) is legit one of my favorite foods – and India Palace does a good job with it! Give it a shot sometime!
