If all the pundits are right, by the time this publishes, Iowa will be pounding the new look Iowa State Cyclones in the 2026 matchup of the Iowa State Cyclones and the Iowa Hawkeyes. It is what some thinks is the logical conclusion of what happens when a football team has to replace 80 players from last year’s team, like Iowa State had to do to prepare for this season. But hopefully all those pundits and “experts” are wrong.
Last year RVTV made a stop in Boone. For those of you that are outside of the Cyclone State, that is a pretty big deal. A local station sends a bunch of its representatives on an RV trip around the state the week of the Cy-Hawk football game. They stop every day in a different town. It turns into something of a pep rally/small town festival/party.
I took a few pictures of the Boone festivities, but not nearly as many as you would think. Here are the few pictures I took:

Carrie was doing some face painting.

Iowa State won the game last year 16-13 on a last second field goal. I don’t know what is happening right as this publishes, but Iowa hasn’t beaten Iowa State since 2021. But I’m hoping Iowa State shocks the world and we keep that win streak intact. Iowa had a win in 2023 but they had to forfeit it later as Iowa cheated in the game. Iowa hasn’t won the game in Iowa City since 2018. Let’s hope that streak continues. Go Cyclones!
