Derecho Gamma

On Saturday morning before breakfast I took the drone out to take some pictures of the “Stop Eminent Domain Abuse” semi trailer and the Luther grain bins. It was very peaceful and quiet. I might have to make this a Saturday morning tradition. Gets me off the couch and more active on Saturday mornings. Plus early morning is a good time to take the drone out There aren’t many people. The lighting is usually okay and there isn’t usually much wind. I might have to go out to the High Trestle Trail Bridge this Saturday. Depending on how late of a Friday night I have.

Probably one more post with derecho damage in the future, but we will see. Some of this damage isn’t going away any time soon.

  1. Your photos have been really powerful.

Down in Kelley, there are some grain bins similar to this. It’s crazy, those are corrugated metal.

  2. I saw those. I did kind of a tour of the 210 corridor on Saturday. Went from Woodward to Huxley and came back through Kelley, Napier, and Luther. I didn’t take a single picture on the tour though. I thought about the grain bins in Kelley, but they were kind of roped off. Similar scene with Slater’s grain bins.

Sheldahl looked like people had just given up. In all the other town people were out cleaning up, but Sheldahl seemed to have decided that “life is pain, and maybe eventually the wind will blow this tree on top of my house into my neighbor’s yard. Anybody that says different is selling something.’
