Last August, Jay and Jesse and Willy and I loaded into the RAV4 and drove out east to check off an Iowa bucket list item for me. What was to visit and seasonal restaurant near Maquoketa Caves State Park that goes by the name of Bluff Lake Catfish Farm. It is best know for its all you can eat fish meals. It is only open a few months a year and then a few days a week. If you go, you need to get there early because it gets packed fast. It is definitely a destination restaurant.
On the way there we went down Jesse Memory Lane. We stopped by the remains of his favorite boyhood restaurant in Tama and then went to a park where the land was formerly owned by his stepfather’s family.

We will stop shortly before the infamous Owalla Incident took place. Eden Valley is a pretty cool park and if you are in the Baldwin area, it is worth a stop to do some light hiking.
