Last Friday we left off Andy and I’s trip to Ireland in the middle of the ISUCFVMB playing at the Iowa State Pep Rally in Merrion Square Park in Dublin. This post will feature more of the same. So much pep rally to enjoy. If I remember correctly they estimated over 10,000 Cyclone fans at the pep rally. That is just incredible! I watched the Dublin game this year. It was between North Carolina and TCU. I’m not sure there were 10,000 fans in the entire stadium. Kansas State and Iowa State fans sold that thing out!
At the same time it is incredible to think at how much has changed since that pep rally. Iowa State has a new president. Iowa State has a new athletic director. Iowa State has a new football coach. Iowa State has almost a completely new team. In just a few days Iowa will elect a new governor. However, those Iowa State fans haven’t changed! I look forward to the next Iowa State pep rally I get to attend. Hopefully in Kansas City next year.
Here are more pep rally pictures:
I know it is the trendy thing for Iowa State fans to take pleasure in the struggles of Matt Campbell and the former Cyclones that moved to Penn State in the offseason. I am not one of them. I don’t wish them anything but success. My number one rooting interest is for Iowa State. Their struggles don’t help Iowa State. Am I sure that many of them have regrets? I’m sure many do. I don’t need to hear things in the rumor mill to know that many of them have to have regrets. But as the saying goes, “the windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror for a reason”. That applies to the Cyclones more than anybody else.
There is still one last and final collection of images from Day 3 of Ireland left to share! Then on to a very small collection of Day 4 images!
