Big Boy: Boone Morning

I followed the Big Boy for a bit as it left Boone. It didn’t leave Boone on time, so sitting and waiting for it took a lot longer than I expected.

I at first took some pictures looking south as they prepared it to leave, then I camped on top of the Iowa 17 bridge and waited for it, forever.

This seemed like a decent spot, and it was good enough, but I don’t think I’d go back there next time. It was pretty lousy with power lines. Also A freight train stopped and blocked anybody that stopped on Old 30 to watch it go by. This didn’t affect me, other than the train was in my shot. But I did feel bad for those people.

Here are some pictures:

I could spend sometime in Photoshop taking out those power lines, but I prefer to get as much right in camera as I can. I know. Old school. Sill a bunch more pictures left to share.
