Ireland Day 1: Street Art

When we left off last Friday we were wandering around George Street Arcade. We will begin there. Most of this collection will concentrate on street art that Andy and I found while walking back to Grafton Street to have our compromise supper at Captain America. Easily the worst meal of the trip, but the ambiance of the restaurant was cool.

One last look at the filming location from ONCE.

I wore a shirt and tie while ushering recently at church and Adam said something like “It was nice to see me in ‘adult clothes’.” I badly wish I owned this shirt to wear to church now. Badly!

Andy wanted me to buy a record from this place, but there was zero chance it would get back to the States in one piece.

The Irish definitely not as Puritanical with language as Americans.

I don’t have any answers for you.

Occupied people supporting occupied people. I saw a lot of support for Palestine in Ireland.

I don’t know if that is an insult or a compliment.

Great door or greatest door?

“Timeless Classic Rainwear of Unmistakable Character”

The Smurfs were an analogy for the British oppression of the Irish?

I’d rather be a fool for a day and a punk for a lifetime. Lust for Life is the name of the Kirk Douglas movie about Vincent van Gogh. Not related, but a reminder that I need to give that a spin in the near future.

I think we are seeing this in real time.

If this was a shirt, I would buy it and wear it every day!

The first sign that Iowa State would win the football game!

Busker!

Should have gotten the fish and chips here.

But instead got a burger that wasn’t great.

Busker!

There is still one more collection of images to share from Day 1 of my trip to Ireland with Andy. That collection will feature the final filming location from ONCE that I got to see.
