Another collection of photos from the Howards 2017. These are from a different camera than the previous collections. I don’t believe I’ve used that camera since this photo shoot. I probably should do something about that.
There is one last collection of 2017 Howard pictures in the hopper.
A few weeks back I published some photos from the 2016 annual Degeneffe boys photo shoot.
Today I start publishing pictures from the 2017 photo shoot.
Pretty much all the pictures from these photo shoots are candids.
Since these pictures of Scottie D.’s progeny, it would be a good time to point out that they recently announced the winner of the Best Tenderloin in Iowa.

The moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here. The winner of the Best Pork Tenderloin in Iowa has been announced.
The Iowa Pork Producers Association has named Three C’s Diner at 300 9th St. in Corning as the winner of the Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin Contest for 2018. It’s the first time a restaurant in southwest Iowa has won the competition.
IPPA judges chose Whatcha Smokin’ BBQ & Brew in Luther as the runner up. Landmark Bistro in Grundy Center, Stout’s Irish Pub & Grill in Clinton and Nine & Dine Restaurant in Eagle Grove rounded out the top five finalists
Whatcha Smokin BBQ & Brew in Luther became the 4th Boone County restaurant to place in the Iowa Pork Producers annual contest. While it is true that 2 of the restaurants that have placed in the past are now closed, it is undeniable that Boone County is the greasy heart of tenderloin country. Which makes sense, since Boone County is also the worldwide headquarters of The Tenerloin Appreciation Society.
I have already had several people volunteer to travel with me to Corning to try this year’s reigning champion (a trip that will be coming no doubt) I came across something fascinating on the Iowa Pork Producer website: The Tenderloin Trail.

The most delicious trail in Iowa is finally here!
Iowa leads the nation in pork production and with all of that delicious pork comes a mid-west treasure that most of the country has no idea even exists … the best breaded pork tenderloin sandwich!

COLLECTIBLE! What a great theme! But what is a COLLECTIBLE image. It is simple enough. It is an image of anything that is COLLECTIBLE. Some people collect Funko Pops. Some people collect old cameras. Some people collect the souls of their enemies. But enough about me. I’m sure there are other things to collect. Like spoons or shot glasses or figurines. A picture of anything that is COLLECTIBLE is a COLLECTIBLE image.

1. The picture has to be taken the week of the theme. This isn’t a curate your pictures challenge. This is a get your butt off the couch (my personal experience) and put your camera in your hands challenge. Don’t send me a picture of you next to the Eiffel Tower, when I know you were in Iowa all week. I will point out that I have let that slide some in the past. I will not in the future. Since it is literally about the only rule.
2. Your submission needs to be emailed to bennett@photography139.com by 11 AM on the Monday of the challenge due date. It should be pointed out that this blog auto-publishes at 12:01 on Mondays. So it wouldn’t hurt to get your picture in earlier.

Way back in October of 2017, Jesse and I took Nader to Gilbert (a town I despise) to visit the people in the church that sponsored Nader when he first came to the United States.
While we were there, we visited his friend Gene. Gene was one of Nader’s initial sponsors and continues to help Nader out now and again.
Gene has quite the collection of Buicks. Here are some pictures:

The pictures in the folder 08-01-08 are from a trip I made to Kentucky with Teresa to visit Ernie.
On the way down we stopped in Metropolis. Visited an illegal immigrant friend of mine. He’s a good chap. Maybe you’ve heard of him:
I highly endorse going to Metropolis. It is pretty cool!

Elainie came home from San Antonio for a visit a few weeks back. It was an excellent opportunity for her to finally pose for THE 9 EMOTION PROJECT and complete the set of my sisters’ children.

I don’t have any other 9 EMOTIONS PROJECT shoots in the can. Recruiting people could be a good project for the winter when playing in the indoor studio seems so much more appealing!
