This is your reminder that this week’s THE WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE theme is SQUARE:

WEEK 347 - SQUARE
SQUARE

SQUARE! What a great theme for Year 9 of THE WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE!

But what is a SQUARE image? A SQUARE image is any image where one of the major elements of your composition is a SQUARE. Remember, all SQUAREs are rectangles, but not all rectangles are SQUAREs. If you look around, you will see that there is are SQUAREs all over the place. Once you see them, you won’t be able to stop seeing them. The next step is to photograph one. I wouldn’t even hate on you if you took a picture of your dog and used a 1:1 aspect ratio.

There are also other definitions of SQAURE you can ponder.

While thinking on your possible subjects for SQUARE, meditate on the following song lyric:

It’s not too hard to figure out
You see it every day
And those that were the farthest out
Have gone the other way
You see them on the freeway
It don’t look like a lot of fun
But don’t you try to fight it
An idea whose time has come
Don’t tell me that I’m crazy
Don’t tell me I’m nowhere
Take it from me
It’s hip to be square

Happy photo harvesting!

This is your reminder that this week’s THE WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE theme is JUNK:

WEEK 334 - JUNK
JUNK

JUNK! What a great theme for Week 9 of THE WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE!

But what is a JUNK image? Simply put, it is any picture that involves JUNK in the composition. It can be as simple as opening up your JUNK drawer and taking a picture. I have at least 5 JUNK drawers in my house and one more in the office. You could got to a local salvage yard. You could go to a local “antique” store. It could be simply a picture of something you don’t like. There are numerous definitions of JUNK and feel free to explore any of those definitions. I think you know the definition I’m talking about.

Happy photo harvesting!

John 14:27

I found this barn and its hopeful message along I70 (or as a Kansan might say 70 Interstate) on my recent trip to visit Nate and Laura. I vowed to stop and take a picture of it on my way home.

Mission accomplished.

Know God... Know Peace

While this saying has graced many a bumper sticker, you won’t actually find it in THE BIBLE. I’m usually fairly coy about the titles of the posts in this here blog (even though I’m sure most of them end up being fairly transparent), however, I will flat out tell you if you go read that particular verse, I think it is what this bumper sticker theology is trying to say.

Although intellectual honesty makes me point out I’m not a noted theologian. I don’t even play one on television. You know every once in awhile, PHOTOGRAPHY 139 needs to get in touch with its roots and give a small reminder of where the name comes from.
