Personal Photo Project #85

Rancho Augustin

This personal photo project was to wander and photograph the man interesting things at Rancho Augustin (not an official title). The light quit on me quicker than I wanted, so I will have to revisit this place and project again.

Micky is undeniably the greatest frog photography assistant in the world. I look forward to working with him again in the future.

Katelyn Augustin

Published by under Micky,Portrait

A few weeks back I was commissioned to photograph Micky and Robyn’s progeny Katelyn. I was hampered slightly by some technical problems, I still think we did some good work. Here are some images from that photo shoot:

I love how every portrait session I do is completely different. This is definitely the first one that involved a baby touching a live fish. I hope it isn’t the last!

Next week’s Random Wednesday will be more baby pictures.

The Archives: Edition Thirty-Six

The following pictures come from:

Backup/Old My Pictures/Sports

Jesse and Jay playing horseshoes at 1 of my birthday parties.

Elainie Playing Third

Lane catching the winning TD versus the Hawks!

I’m not really sure what we thought we were doing here.

Bill took this picture for photography class at Iowa State. You probably think I’m going to point out how common it was for me to dominate Jesse in basketball back before he got old, but I’m not. I’m going to point out that by taking that 1 class, Bill has more formal photography education than I do.

Next week’s folder will be:

RWPE Y2 #38 – SMOKE

Published by under RWPE,Vest

Here are the submissions for SMOKE:

Mike Vest

Christopher D. Bennett

Only 14 weeks left to put your mark on this project. Why not start with next week’s theme:

CALM

You may have noticed that I have fallen a little behind in blogging. I have been even more busy than usual lately and Naima does require quite a bit of attention. But rest assured, that I will catch up at some point.

Personal Photo Project of the Week #85

Greatest Poverty
Greatest Poverty

This Personal Photo Project consists of random flowers of mine (and well Jen and Derrick) that don’t fit into the flowers I make a point to photograph (lilies, daisies, irises, moonflowers, coneflowers, mums…).

Here are the rest of the “unloved” flowers:

State Fairing It Up!

I made it to the State Fair twice this year. I went once on a Friday to see Maroon 5 with Jill. Then on the last day of the Fair I went with my Mom. I met up with Derrick, Jen, and Evie. We ran into Sara, Shawn, and Cousin Amy. Here are some pictures from those trips:

Jill in front of the picture of her at the Photography Salon.

Jill with her turkey leg.

The damage she did to that turkey leg.

Even though Jill is a Legacy Member of the Maroon 5 Fan Club, she felt our seats could have been better…

I thought that they were pretty good.

For some reason, Maroon 5 played before Train. Don’t know why, but at least we didn’t have to endure Train.

Evie loves baby animals!

Evie is a toe wiggler!

Evie supports winners!

We heard the following at this stand a lot: “1 fried butter on a stick and a bottle of water, please!”

You can’t imagine how hard it was for me NOT to photoshop that terrible Hawk logo out of this picture, but trust me, despite what his wardrobe is telling the world, Shawn is a good guy. He just doesn’t know how to dress.

With the 2nd Place Picture

With the Honorable Mention Picture

Some people view this as impressive.

Looking forward to next year’s fair already!

Published by under RWPE,Vest

Only two pictures for SPIRITUAL this week:

Mike Vest

Christopher D. Bennett

I took my picture with my phone last week.

This week’s theme:

SMOKE

This is a slight modification of a theme from last year, so no reason to take a look back.

Good luck!
