My aunt Delores recently had me scan and order some old family pictures for her for a frame she was putting up in their new house. Here are those pictures: She gave these to me so long ago, that I hope she hasn’t forgotten about them. Hopefully I’ll be able… Read More »Old Family Photos
Sorrow and Gladness – 2012 My annual trip to the State Center Rose Garden was kind of bittersweet. I went earlier than normal because of how early flowers have been blooming this year. As it turns out, I probably went too early and it was definitely too windy to get… Read More »Personal Photo Project of the Week #110

I continued this project for one full week, until January 15th. On that night, my Mom’s health took a very drastic change for the worse. Enough you know at least some of the details of where we were and where we are now, that I won’t go into them here.… Read More »Self-Portrait Project: Week 2
Rebels This week’s project was to photograph my Mom’s columbines. More from the Rebels Series: Columbines are a very photogenic flower. I’ll have to revisit them again next year.
Mom, Carla, and Teresa all make appearances in this collection.
Still Laughing 2012 There are a lot fewer tulip pictures this year, both the obvious and the weather played a big part in that. In fact, due to the fact that almost all flowers are blooming a month early this year, I’m pretty sure I will miss out on most… Read More »Personal Photo Project of the Week #100
This post is somewhat bittersweet as these pictures were taken before my Mom’s diagnosis and while she was still being treated by the incompetent doctor. However, I want to remain positive and since things are progressing positively, there is no reason to dwell on the negative. When she saw these… Read More »Bennett Family Pictures
I’m not sure where many of these pictures were taken, but they are interesting.
Before the Swallow Dares These daffodils were in my Mom’s room in Methodist during Daffodil Days. If you don’t know what Daffodils Days is, let me quote from the American Cancer Society Website: You can give hope to people facing cancer and save lives by supporting the American Cancer Society… Read More »Personal Photo Project of the Week #95
On the Sunday before Labor Day I hosted a little Bennett Family Reunion. Although none of the Fort Dodge Bennetts attended, I think it was a rousing success. It was the first reunion of its kind in at least 20 years. I hope that we can have another one next… Read More »Meet the Bennetts
Some pretty sweet pictures of my uncles not wearing shirts in this volume! I wonder how long that flag pole lasted because it couldn’t have been too many more years before they built the addition to the high school that destroyed Blair Park.
A lot of things can be said about the Bennetts, but after witnessing some of these pictures, our fashion sense will never be called into question again.
I made it to the State Fair twice this year. I went once on a Friday to see Maroon 5 with Jill. Then on the last day of the Fair I went with my Mom. I met up with Derrick, Jen, and Evie. We ran into Sara, Shawn, and Cousin… Read More »State Fairing It Up!
The rest of the The Girl in the Blue Skirt Series: This series of lily pictures consisted of lilies found in the gardens of my Grandma, Mom, Jen, and your truly.
As you may recall, I like to check in on some statistics every 100 posts or so to see how things are doing in popularity. However, this statistical check-in will mark the end of an era. I am officially retiring the Snapshots Gallery and the Artistic Gallery. The advent of… Read More »Post 1200
The best laid plans of mice and men… I had written this journal entry several days ahead of schedule because I was planning to be in Minnesota right now. I made all the appropriate plans, but fate took a hand and forced me to cancel my vacation. At about 3:35… Read More »RWPE Y2 #31 – LEADING LINES
