New Toy

I got a new toy for the camera in the mail yesterday. I did some experimenting with it. I know some cynics out there are thinking: “Wow you bought a toy that takes blurry pictures, congratulations.” I would only respond with a smile and say, “Yes I did!”

Selling Out

I’m not what you would call a commercial photographer. However, recently I have gotten some commercial photography gigs. The first gig was (and is ongoing) to do some of the photography for the website of a local soap company. However, I don’t want to delve too deeply into that because… Read More »Selling Out

A Great Saturday

Many great things happened on Saturday. Iowa State beat Kansas State I got to take my nephew Johnathan to his first ever Cyclone football game. I got to tailgate with the Fausts, Willy, Jay, and Derrick. Then just to put icing on the Great Day Cake: Kansas put up over… Read More »A Great Saturday

Johnny Consumer

I’d like to think that I had a better than average week this week. It started out poorly as the Padres lost to the Rockies in a play in game and despite the fact that the umpire blew the call that gave the Rockies the win, I accept the loss… Read More »Johnny Consumer

Time to Come Clean

Over the last week I have had to face a couple of hard truths. The first truth is that the Pope isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. Or perhaps I’m wrong and during this time of religious bickering, it was a smart thing to piss off Jews and Protestants… Read More »Time to Come Clean

Randumbness

I’m going to attempt to get out of the video posting rut that I’ve been in lately. Not that the videos I’ve posted have been bad. In fact, they have been highly entertaining. However, this here “Artist’s Notebook” isn’t supposed to be about funny videos. It is supposed to be… Read More »Randumbness

Post Secret

Last Thursday I went to a lecture by the Post Secret guy at the Union with Stephanie, Jen, Derrick, and Sara. It was rather informative. If you aren’t familiar with Post Secret it is an art project where people write down their secrets and send them to one guy. He… Read More »Post Secret

2007 Calendar

So most of the 2007 Calendars have been printed, laminated and bound. There are just a few left that need to be distributed. If you still want a calendar and didn’t get your order in, better let me know. Because 2007 begins in 13 hours and every day that a… Read More »2007 Calendar

Blue Steel Plans Halted

I failed in my quest to get “Building 429” properly framed for display last night. I also learned that my attempts to get “Blue Steel” placed prominently in Salon 908 will not result in anything tangible. However, “Earth’s Laughter Series – #04” might get a spot on their walls. Jesse… Read More »Blue Steel Plans Halted
