The pictures in the folder 2009-09-09 are from two road trips I took back in 2009. One was a trip with my Mom, Grandma, and Teresa to Kalona. Kalona has always been one of my favorite places to visit. It has been too long since I have been there, that… Read More »2009-09-09

Alas, Poor Yorick!

I have to start today’s post off by wishing the happiest of birthdays to Micky! I’m not sure how old Micky is now, but I hope he is at an age where he start to gain a refined taste in pancakes. Micky is one of the best outdoorsman I know,… Read More »Alas, Poor Yorick!

There Are Moments

Back in July I stumbled around my backyard and took some pictures of my numerous lilies, hollyhocks, and gazanias. I was playing around with extension tubes. It looks like I will have to purchase a set of extension tubes for the New Hotness at some point, but that will be… Read More »There Are Moments

2009-08-31

The pictures in the folder 2009-08-31 are from both the last day we spent in Ottumwa working on Jen’s Uncle’s house and from my backyard. The collection of Derrick and his guitar are amongst my favorite pictures I’ve ever taken of Derrick: By adding these pictures to the Photograpy 139… Read More »2009-08-31

Slapdash

Today’s collection of images are cleaning up a couple of days worth of images from back in July that were taken, but weren’t the main theme of my photo aspirations for that day. One of the pictures is from when my people took me to Kamrar for a birthday dinner.… Read More »Slapdash

2009-08-29

The pictures from the folder named 2009-08-29 are mostly from a photo session I did with Stephanie. If I recall correctly, these pictures were supposed to be a headshot for her music career. I decided to convert those to black and white and save them for posterity. The other pictures… Read More »2009-08-29

Purpose and Potential

Hitting up the old 2019 backlog. The pictures I share today are from the graduation church service for our church’s seniors. The other pictures are pictures I took on the same day. I have seen some of those kids, ahem, young adults since they moved on to their next adventures.… Read More »Purpose and Potential

2009-08-24

There are a ton of photos in the folder 2009-08-24. Most of them are from my trips to the Iowa State Fair in 2009. However, there is also a good chunk of them that are pictures of Teresa and Ernie. This is already going to be a long post, so… Read More »2009-08-24

Behind Curtiss

Last year I failed to make it to Pella to photograph tulips. In fact, I think it has been a couple of years since I’ve been to Pella. Which is sad, because I really enjoy photographing tulips. Even though, there are those that hate my flower photography, I persist. While… Read More »Behind Curtiss

So Early Made

These are the first flower pictures I took in 2019 in my own yard. There are also a couple of bonus Naima pictures, since she was there too. On further reflection, I would say that some of these flowers are actually from my Mom’s yard. Definitely the tulip.

They’ve Always Been Our Friend

Here is a collection of pictures I took in my backyard back in August of some flowers, the sky, and of course that most noble of insects, the wasp. Want more wasp pictures? Don’t worry baby bird. I’ll feed you. Eventually.

Backbone Road Trip

Rather than naming the folders that include images from the Backbone State Park Road Trip I took with Jay, Derrick, Jen, Sara, and Shannon, I’m just going to call this post Backbone Road Trip. Here are a look at a few of my favorite images from the road trip: It… Read More »Backbone Road Trip

Will You Pardon Me?

I spent a few moments taking pictures of flowers one day back in May. Here are some of my favorites: The tulips belong to my Mom. The rest belong to me. +++++++ One thing I wanted to bring back this year was happy birthdays. Today is Lowell’s birthday, so happy… Read More »Will You Pardon Me?

Logan’s Toy

Back in August, Logan purchased a new mirrorless Sony camera. I took it for a brief run through my backyard for fun. I’ve been on the struggle bus lately because it is about time that I purchase a new camera but I can’t decide if I should stay in the… Read More »Logan’s Toy
