Sharing another picture from a west(ish) Kansas sunset because Laura says that west(ish) Kansas has the best sunsets. When I told people I was going to visit Manhattan, they usually say: “Cool!” Then I say, “No, the one in Kansas.” Then they say, “Oh.” After a long bit of silence… Read More »Kansas Weed
Wells have always been a source of fascination for me. But I’m also very glad that I don’t have to drink well water on a regular basis. This well is from my Aunt Linda’s farm. I actually didn’t throw anything into the well. I consider this a sign of maturity.… Read More »The Driving Force
On my recent trip to Manhattan I spent some time at my Aunt Linda’s farm. There are many fascinating things deteriorating in her yard. Of course, this is the kind of thing I love to photograph. Below is one such thing. There are at least a few more images from… Read More »But Even a Fool Will Tell You
Just south of Manhattan a few miles is a scenic view. On my recent trip to visit Nate and Laura, I stopped at this scenic view and snapped a few photos. Below is one of my favorites. I took this photo on my Saturday in Manhattan. I wish I would… Read More »Highway 177
I thought I would revisit Minnehaha Falls for the day. I called this post STUPID PEOPLE, not because I think people are stupid, but because I had to Photoshop people out of this picture. Why are they in the park when I want to take a picture? PARTICULARS CAMERA: SONLY… Read More »Stupid People

Hopefully. Better prepared. Hopefully. PARTICULARS FOCAL LENGTH: 18mm (35mm equivalency – 27mm) ISO: 100 APERTURE:… Read More »Gravity
Over the years a few people have asked me to bring back the WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE. Without giving the matter a second of thought, I’ve always immediately responded, “Go suck an egg!” However, since I myself have struggled to take camera in hand quite a bit lately (including missing an… Read More »Capital or Capitol?

I keep saying I’m going to get back to bloggin’, but it never seems to happen. Well I think if I get a lot less ambitious, things might work out. So I’m just going to try to throw up something daily-ish. I didn’t want to get back on the horse… Read More »Night Driving
The rest of the pictures from my phone from the last couple of months. Once again, if you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen most of these already. Carry on! First time playing BINGO with Jill. After watching MONTAGE OF HECK, I listened to a ton of Nirvana… Read More »Phonetos Vol. 2
Although I haven’t touched the real camera lately, I have sorta documented some stuff with my cruddy camera on my phone. Thought I would post some of those from the last few months. Remember, these are taken with a cruddy camera phone. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve already… Read More »Phonetos – Vol. 1
DaeHee’s light painting of a dog. (Photo assistant: Bethany Yoon) This is an in camera effect that I haven’t used for awhile. But I may have to crack out more often with any of my friends that think they can draw.
DaeHee and I at the Uptown Art Fair. (Photo by Bethany Yoon) Clearly DaeHee is better at the putting his melon through the cutout thing than I am.
Bethany and DaeHee showing of their urban garden. I was really impressed with how well you can grow a garden out of hay bales. I’m almost tempted to try this along my back fence next year.
Another rose from the State Center Rose Garden (Photo Assistant: Jesse Howard) The selection of today’s photo was also a salute to Russell. He has long been the biggest supporter of my flower photography. The word fanatic barely seems to describe it.
Found this guy at Antique Archaeology in LeClaire. If I were to hazard a guess, I would guess that we heard customers ask at least 10 times if Mike and Frank were there. At least 10 times.
Jesse and I at Antique Archaeology in LeClaire. (Photo by random smoking stranger) I have now been to both the Antique Archaeology in Nashville and LeClaire. The one in LeClaire is vastly superior.
