The world wasn’t ready for these BLACK & WHITE pictures on Monday. It wasn’t ready on Tuesday. It wasn’t ready on Wednesday. It wasn’t ready on Thursday. I don’t think the world is ready for them now, but I can’t hold them back any longer:

Some of the pictures were taken downtown Des Moines. Others were taken at Ledges. Some at the First United Methodist Church in Boone. The pictures with Naima were taken at Dickcissel Park.

By restoring these photos to the Photography 139 Photo Gallery, I was able to restore the following classic blog entries to their former glory:

The picture of me dunking is not a photo trick or a lowered hoop, I’m sure.

I’m not quite sure why I took the religious photos. But I like them.

The Easter photos are interesting because this year we won’t be celebrating Easter on Easter for the first time that I can ever remember. Mom is heading to Virginia with her favorite child that weekend. I might have my own private Air Fryer Easter that day.

The pictures of Shannon are from when she started at United Way. She needed a head shot for some kind of press release or newsletter or to hang in the company bathroom. I’m not really sure. However, I am 100% sure that Shannon will continue to work at The United Way for the foreseeable future. She will probably retire from there.

Next week’s walk down memory lane will involve snow.

A Special Valentine

I just want to drop a gratitude bomb on everybody that made it out to the Houston Mission Trip Fundraiser Spaghetti Dinner last night. I don’t have exact figures but based on the size of the crowd, it was a resounding success!

Thought I would share a few cruddy cell phone pictures from the event:

Remember that Ashed-Selfie the Ashfie I was railing on yesterday. Here is mine. Jaxon’s fault.

I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking that this is an awesome cause, BUT my significant other made me go somewhere else in an ostentatious display of what is undoubtedly our great love. Perhaps the love of the century. Therefore, I couldn’t make it. But I would like to contribute some pittance to the cause. After all, taking 20 or so people to Houston can’t be cheap.

Well friend, today is your lucky day! Not literally today. But at some point in the future we will be having at least one more fundraiser. I have no doubt you will be able to make that one.

So stay tuned for another announcement. Same Photography 139 time (roughly). Same Photography 139 channel!

More alternatives for COLORFUL that the world couldn’t handle on Monday. I’m hoping it can handle them now:

Most of these photos were taken at Boone First United Methodist Church. A few were taken in the campustown area of Ames. The pictures of Naima were taken in the Photography 139 backyard.

Most of these are an incamera special effect that is far from perfect, but often creates interesting results.
