“The Wrong Guy Got Elected”

For those that have been asking, it is my sad duty to report that Scott did not get elected last Tuesday. He lost the vote 161-126-2. Yes, there were two write-in votes. For Scooby Doo, I’m guessing. Based on how seriously some people take their vote.

But 161 votes for an incumbent is a clear indication that the incumbent doesn’t have a ton of support in his ward.

The momentary setback for Boone’s progress prompted me to get the following text message on Wednesday morning:

The wrong guy got elected.

I don’t want to go into a whole postmortem thing about the election right now. It is tough to defeat an incumbent. Particularly in an off year election. Especially when they have the backing of a political party and you don’t. Scott got a late start on his campaign. Perhaps Scott was even a slight victim of the blue wave that happened last Tuesday. It could even be argued that he was hurt by 1 issue voters. That 1 issue. Chickens in backyards.

Whatever the reason that Boone’s progress was temporarily halted last Tuesday, it is only temporary. Scott will continue his school board duties and he will be running for political office again. Soon. What office? Still to be determined.

I thought I would share some of the photos I took during this process:

Don’t worry the revolution isn’t dead. The Scottie D. Revolution is just getting started!

  1. Well turnout was very weak. That ward had the smallest turnout.

I think I could’ve got Scott elected if I could have gotten him to go on to Facebook and say something mildly racist.

You know, get the Trumpkins all riled up.

  2. I’m not exactly the campaign manager. Just part of the team.

But if he lived in Alabama… is it too early for a pedophile joke?

  3. When I think I couldn’t get more disgusted with our political climate… Republicans rally around a pedophile and compare him to Joseph! TO JOSEPH!!!

  4. I am just so freaking confused by that logic. Or why they should destroy their Kuerigs in protest of them deploring pedophilia?!

  5. Alt-White talking colostomy bag Sean Hannity falsely claimed that Kuerig apologized to him last night. Or at the very least, was very misleading about an apology.

I just don’t understand the infatuation that many in the right wing have in reveling and wallowing in stupidity. If there is an animal that craps itself and then sits in its own feces, that should be the symbol of the GOP. I mean, there won’t be any elephants left in the near future any ways.

  6. I hadn’t watched that – but I’m not surprised at all. There is so much bluster and so little substance to that guy, of course he’s trying to claim that they were groveling. Also – why would Kuerig care about Republicans smashing coffee makers they already own? That’s just re-growing their potential future market.

I read Steve Deace’s defense as to why he hasn’t pulled his endorsement yet. “But he SEEMS like a stand-up guy.” Wow, that’s solid, good job.

  7. The CEO of Keurig apologized to his employees. Hannity read it as if it was an apology to him. He is also giving away 250 Kuerigs.

I’d like to take all those broken Kuerigs and turn them into a statue of some Confederate soldier. Wearing a Participant ribbon.

I get down on my knees and thank God every day (at least I should) that Steve Deace is no longer the repugnant face of Cyclone media.

But Steve Deace did give me one blessing. I used to listen to talk radio to go to sleep tonight. But his show was so repulsive that I switched to podcasts several years back. Podcasts have really added a missing entertainment element to my life.

  8. Hannity has an amazing ego. Like, that’s impressive that he could turn it into that. I hope Kuerig is just cringing at the thought.

Deace has always been just an embarrassment. And he keeps sticking his sausage fingers into things and messing it up – it’s just amazing to me how he and King have functional adults vote for them.

I don’t listen to as many podcasts as I should, but am going to start. I saw this article a week or two ago, and want to try several out (despite Esquire being the source): http://www.esquire.com/entertainment/a55036/best-podcasts-2017/?src=arb_fb_m
