A Little Fall Cleaning

Today is a collection of small folders with a just a couple images here and there, that I just wanted to get cleaned up and out of my organizational workflow. Feels good to get some of those cobwebs cleared out.

2010-04-19

The grand majority of pictures from the folder 2010-04-19 are from the Iowa State’s Spring Game in 2010. There is also one picture that was used for Week 15 of Year 1 of THE WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE. The theme was LONG EXPOSURE. Looking through these pictures really made me miss… Read More »2010-04-19

Who You Are to Me

Here is a collection of flower pictures I took with a flash ring back in late July. Lilies. Hollyhocks. Moonflowers. Oh my! I think I’ve finally started to put a dent into all the flower pictures I’ve taken during the pandemic. Maybe not a big dent, but you can definitely… Read More »Who You Are to Me

If You’re Looking for Hope

The inspiration for today’s picture collection was beautiful flowers. The inspiration for today’s “An Artist’s Notebook” journal title is from a for King & Country song entitled “Together”. Think we are all probably looking for a little hope after the sh!tshow that was the Presidential Debate on Tuesday. This is… Read More »If You’re Looking for Hope

No Impossible with You

This is a collection of flower pictures I took in late July. Most with a flash ring. The ones that aren’t were taken at Jester Park. Just a reminder that moonflowers are my favorite flowers.

That Wasn’t Me

Every once in awhile, and it is a very rare every once in awhile, people ask me where I come up with the titles for my “An Artist’s Notebook” entries. The once that aren’t glaringly obvious. Frequently they are taken from quotes. But frequently they are taken from songs I’m… Read More »That Wasn’t Me

The Goodness of God

Today I’m sharing a collection of flower pictures I took back in late June. Daisies. Hollyhocks. Lilies. Oh my! There are probably a couple potential calendar images in this collection. Depends on how flower heavy I go with the 2021 calendar. One thing the pandemic did do, was cause me… Read More »The Goodness of God

Rise Together

Today I’m sharing a collection of pictures I took around my Mom’s flower gardens back in June. I’ve taken so many flower pictures this year. I’m not even mad about it.

2010-04-05

The pictures in the folder 2010-04-05 are from a combination of us introducing Jackson to the greatness of Homerun Derby and then the rest are pictures for a MACRO theme of the first year of THE WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE, then known as THE RANDOM WEEKLY PHOTO EXPERIMENT. Makes me want… Read More »2010-04-05

9/11

Today is the 19th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the plane that was ultimately taken down in Pennsylvania. 2,977 people died on that day. On the anniversary, I usually recount my experience on that day. I won’t do that today. I will… Read More »9/11

Oh But Still

You couldn’t have possibly thought that I didn’t have alternate FLOWER photos for last week’s THE WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE did you? Of course, I took lots of flower pictures last week, but only a few were contenders for my submission to THE WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE. Here are the contenders that… Read More »Oh But Still

Town Sign Upgrade

As you know, I am a big fan of town signs. So much so that I’ve even created a project dedicated to my love for town signs. Part of this love comes from a sign I remember as a kid. It was up on Marion Street as you were entering… Read More »Town Sign Upgrade
