Whew! This is a big one. Just by adding these pictures to the SmugMug Gallery from the folder 2010-04-29, I was able to fix 5 “An Artist’s Notebook” posts. I believe I added pictures to 14 different photo albums.

The pictures in this folder are taken from over several days of vacation I took back in 2010. Some in Minnesota. Some at Iowa State. Lots of flowers. A few of people.

Here are a few of them:

By adding these pictures to the Photography 139 Gallery, I was able to restore the following historic “An Artist’s Notebook” entries to their original glory:

Here is a collection of flower pictures that I took back in July. I could see one of these making the 2021 Photography 139 Calendar. I actually had a request of sorts on a picture to put in the calendar. First time that has happened in quite some time. The flower pictures still work for someone, at least.

Still, plenty of flower pictures left to curate. Unfortunately, not many left to take this year.

It’s Been a Long Time Coming

I should start by pointing out that I jacked up Kalista’s submission yesterday for THE WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE. This is what it was:

It came in after the 11 AM deadline and in my haste to get the picture posted before the 12:01 autopublish, I didn’t double check my copying and pasting. Not the first time it has happened. Certainly won’t be the last.

Time for another collection of flower pictures. These pictures were taken around the yard in early August.

Hope all the snow we got yesterday doesn’t mark the end of flowetrography season, but I’m sure it will be ending soon. Definitely sooner than I want it to end.

The pictures in the folders 2010-04-22, 2010-04-24, & 2010-04-25 are mostly interconnected. The grand majority of the pictures were take on the first day I took of vacation back in 2010. A ton of them are tulip picture. But there are also some frog pictures. Flowertography and frogtography in one post? Get out of Dodge! Especially, if we’re referring to Fort Dodge. That town is terrible. They think Taco Tico is real food. As if!

I think I’ve finally started to put a dent into all the flower pictures I’ve taken during the pandemic. Maybe not a big dent, but you can definitely see it in the right light.

Back in August I started experimenting with bellows to take macro images. Here is a handful (and by handful, I mean a handful if you are the man who killed Inigo Montoya’s father) of images from the fist trial run.

These pictures are only the slightest cropped to remove a little bit of vignetting in the upper corners. I can’t remember what the gold thing is in one of the pictures.

The inspiration for today’s picture collection was beautiful flowers. The inspiration for today’s “An Artist’s Notebook” journal title is from a for King & Country song entitled “Together”. Think we are all probably looking for a little hope after the sh!tshow that was the Presidential Debate on Tuesday.
