These pictures would end up in The Fail Trunk in my basement if they were any more than just digital images. However, because of the failure of these images, I have figured out the error of my ways and now know how to light Jen and Derrick so that I get the images that I want. Perhaps a re-shoot is in the future.
I like the concept of what you attempted, but the transparency seems a slight bit much & lends it an eerie effect in my untrained eyes. I am curious why you choose to place Jen in front in both photos? I see a great romantic/artistic statement in I with your placement of Derrick behind her, sort of a supportive, wind-beneath-her wings role. It seems fitting that you would cast her in that role in II. I think you could be on to something here. Please post the re-shoot for us to see your progress!
I want to see the re-shoot, too! Very ghostly (not ghastly – big difference).
The simple truth is that is just a trick of the poor lighting. Jen is not in front both times on purpose. That is a complete accident.
The re-shoot will definitely be posted. Although that is a way down the road. Something like Personal Photo Project 21 or 22.
