All the Fleas!

A couple months back Mom, Teresa, Logan, and I hopped into a vehicle of some kind and headed due east for famous What Cheer, Iowa and it’s even more famous flea market.

It didn’t disappoint. I think a person could spend all day there and still not see all the vendors.

Here are some pictures from that trip. You’re welcome Kio!

My favorite part of the What Cheer Flea Market is that they (seemingly) allow you to climb up onto the roof of their rickety grandstand. The roof is made out of sheet metal and their doesn’t seem to be any reinforcements as you walk across it. Hoping you don’t plummet to your death. It was awesome!

On the last day of my vacation I took a quick sprint up to Dolliver Memorial State Park. On my way there I passed through Dayton. I stopped in Dayton to look for something to fulfill Page 9 of THE PHOTO JOURNAL PROJECT.

I found this picture just waiting to be harvested:

On the last day of my vacation, I headed to Dolliver Memorial State Park. My mission was to complete Page 80 of THE PHOTO JOURNAL PROJECT. Good news is that it worked out!

Page 80 – Next time you pass something and think, “Hey that would make a great picture”, actually stop and take a picture.

I stopped and took this picture somewhere along P70.

Manhattan Nights

Thought I’d share another one of my favorite photos from my trip to Manhattan to visit Nate and Laura.

This water tower is on top of Manhattan Hill. I think Manhattan Hill is one of my favorite places in Manhattan. Although on this recent trip I was introduced to Top of the World. I’ll definitely be checking that out during the day on my next trip to Wildcat Land.

My birthday present to myself was hitting the open road with just my thoughts, a killer playlist, and my camera. Union Grove Park was one of my first stops. Took this photo there.

Often people tell me that they want to go on one of my photo road trips, but I think it is rare, the person that could survive, let alone thrive under the conditions of my pilgrimages. But applicants are welcome, but you know, they aren’t often accepted.
